Урок-игра «Be my Valentine»

Цель: повышать интерес учащихся к культуре изучаемого языка, познакомить их с историей возникновения и традициями праздника.

Задачи урока:

1. Образовательные:

- Знакомство с традициями празднования Дня Св. Валентина в англоговорящих странах и в мире;

- Тренировка учащихся в чтении с извлечением информации;

- Активизация уже известной лексики по теме;

- Формирование навыков говорения.

2.Развивающие:

- Развитие аналитического мышления, способности к распределению и переключению внимания, к сравнению и сопоставлению, к выявлению причинно-следственных связей во фразе, в тексте;

- Развитие умения рассуждать;

- Развитие умения выделять главное, существенное в изучаемом материале, умения преодолевать трудности в ходе составления плана ответа;

- Развитие навыков устной речи.

3.Воспитательные:

- Воспитание потребности и способности понимать и принимать культуру и традиции другой страны;

- Развитие интереса к мировой культуре и традициям.

 

Ход урока.

  1. Организационное начало урока.

1.Greeting

Teacher: Good morning, children! I’m glad to see you.

Children: Good morning, our dear teacher! We are glad to see you too.

Teacher: Today we celebrate one of the best holidays, which young and old people love. It is St. Valentine’s Day. So, we are going to find out how people all over the world celebrate this holiday. Now, please, look at the blackboard. Here you can see love quotations. Let’s read and translate them.

Children: Love is life. And if you miss love, you miss life. (Leo Buscaglia). «Любовь-это жизнь. Если ты пропустишь любовь, ты пропустишь жизнь»

Teacher: Yes, you are right. Good for you.

2.Introduction of the theme of the lesson

(Деление класса на 2 команды. Объявление темы и целей занятия, условий игры).

Teacher: Today we'll have a competition by theme St. Valentine's Day. We'll know many interesting things about this holiday and have a good time. We have 2 teams: arrows and hearts. You will get small valentines for your right answers and at the end of our lesson we'll count them. Which team will have more valentines will be the wins. At our lesson we'll learn about: the history of this holiday, its symbols, remember spelling of some words, sing song about love, and play a little.

St. Valentine's Day

There are some legends about St. Valentine's Day. One of the legends says that Valentine was Christian priest. He was put into prison for his teaching. He did a miracle. He helped the jailer's daughter and she could see. He wrote her letter

"My sweetheart!

Tomorrow we’ll part forever. Thank you for your kind heart and tenderness. In this dark jail our hearts were touched by the fire of love and truth. My God bless you with wisdom and compassion.

Your Valentine ".

Now St. Valentine's Day is the day of sweet-hearts. People give sweets, flowers, valentines and presents to those whom they love. People buy valentines or make them themselves.
