Цели урока:

Практические: отработка новой и ранее изученной лексики,

Воспитательные: воспитание бережного отношения к окружающей среде и чувства ответственности за свои поступки, привитие интереса к глобальным проблемам нашего общества в частности к проблеме загрязнения

Образовательные: получение сведений о проблеме загрязнения и ее особенностях

Развивающие: развитие навыков ознакомительного, просмотрового и детального чтения, памяти, логического мышления, языковой догадки, анализа, обобщения

Ход урока

1. Организационный момент.
Good morning. Sit down, please. I’m glad to see you. What is the day today?(Yes, well done).

2. Актуализация темы(дотекстовой этап)

Today we are going to discuss very important and serious theme, but first look at the pictures and tell me what you see. Yes, you are right; now tell me what do you know about it, about problem of pollution. Do you pollute? Leave your candy wrapper, other garbage on the street.

Ознакомление с новой лексикой.

Now let’s get acquainted with new words that you will meet in the text.(There are new words with definitions, antonyms(they have to guess the meaning)) (Teacher reads children repeat, write down and try to guess the meaning. Then repeat all words in chorus)

(Упражнение для запоминания слов: I tell you ward in English or Russian and you translate)

3. Чтение текста. Before reading find words in the text, that related to this theme(pollution) (Now let’s read the text. Then you will answer my questions.)

Environmental pollution

Environmental pollution is one of the largest problems in our today’s world. It can be defined as a contamination(pollution) of air, water and land from man-made waste. Nowadays there aren’t any cities and hardly any rural(urban) areas that remain clean and unpolluted(dirty).

There are a lot of different types of pollution among which the most recognized are air and water pollution, soil and radioactive contamination, littering(leaving rubbish such as paper, cans, and bottles left lying in an open or public place), noise, light pollution. Unfortunately, most of the problems are the result of human activities.

People cut down forests and damage thousands of acres([ˈeɪkə]) of land. First of all, the soil can be easily blown away and secondly, even if new trees are planted, they can’t bring back the old forests that were a part of a complex ecosystem([ˈiːkəʊsɪstəm]) that cleaned the air and made home for wildlife.

Big industrial cities produce a lot of waste every day. Very often toxic or poisonous liquid chemicals are poured into(to water into) the water therefore people’s health is put at risk. However, they are themselves responsible for this.

Water and air pollution are also a serious threat to our environment. The main factors are car fumes, oil spills, throwing litter and many others. Polluted air and water affect(to influence) people’s health and millions of them have got no access to safe drinking water.

In conclusion, it must be said that if we want to live in a better and healthier world we should take great care(to be very careful) of our mother nature and learn how to protect it.

4. Упражнения

1). Answer questions.( What is a definition of environmental pollution? Are we responsible for pollution? What are types of pollution? Why can’t new trees replace old trees? Why is people health at risk? What are main factors of air and water pollution?What can we do to live in a better and healthier world? In your opinion, what can we do to change the situation with pollution in our country?)

2). Read the text again and select a keyword or phrase in each paragraph

3). Make up headings for each paragraph

4). Make a plan of the text and retell.

5. Подведение итогов. Домашнее задание.

I’m very satisfied with your work. Your homework would be learn all new words, tomorrow we would have a dictation, also you have to write small essay about pollution problem, write about 10 sentences, try to express your opinion.
