1 Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen!

2 We are really glad to meet you in our assembly hall!

1 We are glad to welcome you to the Lights of the Big City festival dedicated to the creative path of Charlie Chaplin.

2 CINEMA – what is it? Cinema or Cinematography is an outdated word.

1 The word CINEMA is more familiar to us, or Cinematography from the Greek "Kinema" is pictures in motion. The star of the silent movies was Charlie Chaplin.

2 Cinema was invented a long time ago, at the end of the 19th century, by the Lumiere brothers.

1. In the beginning, the films were black and white and silent! Imagine a movie without sound! Previously, silent films were accompanied by live music.

2 The orchestra was playing, and most often one person was a piano player.

1. Another strange word is "TAPER"! What does it mean? The literal translation from French is to clap, knock. The name of the profession comes from the manner of performance, when I had to play a very out-of-tune piano, literally banging on the keys.

1. Previously, silent films were accompanied by live music.

2 Some kids may not know who he is, but the silent film legend's career spanned 75 years. He's like Mickey Mouse from the human world, an icon recognized by people all over the world.

Attention to the screen.

Ведущий 2 Meet the Hollywood silent film star Charles Spencer Chaplin.( биография Чарльз Спенсер Чаплин I was born on April 16, 1889, in Walworth, London. He has been performing on stage since he was five years old. After his mother's death, he visited an institution for beggars and an orphanage, sold newspapers, and changed many professions in a short time. The path to the top of cinema began in 1908, when he became an actor in a private theater. Together with the troupe, he toured the USA twice, where one of the film producers noticed me. By 1917, I had become a silent film star, and soon I created my own film company. The company makes feature films that are bought all over the world. The first sound film, The Dictator, was shot with me in 1940. Adolf Hitler, ridiculed in the film, declared me a personal enemy. I settled in Switzerland, continuing to create. My career has been marked by two Oscars and numerous awards. I received a knighthood from the English Queen.)

1. Chaplin's words can become a real life guide for many, because it took the actor more than half a century to understand these truths!

2 1. Charlie said that he lived his whole life before he learned to truly love himself. It was amazing, because the whole world adored him, and at the same time he was constantly finding fault with himself...

1. I like his idea that all desires should be fulfilled on time - when a person is ready for them, and not before.

1. That's why there's no need to rush, everything has its time. ")

2 Charlie said that at some point he stopped constantly chasing dreams and wishing for another life, and realized that his life was wonderful and gave him all the opportunities for growth.( Чарли говорил, что в какой-то момент перестал постоянно гнаться за мечтами и желать другой жизни, и понял, что его жизнь прекрасна и дает ему все возможности для роста)

2 He has learned to be satisfied and happy under any circumstances.

3 Charlie said that by the age of 70 he had also learned to live in the present moment - here and now. "When I fell in love with myself, I stopped living in the past and worrying about the future," .

Playwright Bernard Shaw called Chaplin "the only genius who came out of the film industry." Orphanages, schools, and streets are named after him in many countries . His image made of clay, wood, sugar, soap, chocolate, cardboard, rubber, plastic can be seen at markets and fairs, in the windows of fashion stores. His familiar figure is embroidered on clothes, his busts and statues made of marble, porcelain, and bronze adorn museums around the world, and his portraits hang in galleries among the portraits of famous contemporaries. You may have heard the music of Charlie Chaplin and don't even know about it. Jazz singer and pianist Nat Cole wrote the lyrics to the instrumental theme. “Smile", which means a smile. Chaplin came up with this music for his film "New Times".

2 And now you will hear the song “Smile" performed by a variety ensemble. The Reverend N.V. Luzan.

I want to end our festival with Chaplin's words: "I believe that the power of laughter and tears can be an antidote to hatred and fear." Whatever happens, smile and cheer up! And then you can overcome any difficulties! Thanks to our audience, young artists and teachers!
